Crinkles (12/12)

What you need: crinkle paper, dish of glue, brush for glue, piece of paper

Sydney had more fun putting the crinkle paper on her head and posing for the camera.  Kelsey found a gem at Michael's on Sunday while we participated in The Knack free make and take project so she glued that on her paper along with a paper towel tube she found in the nearby box of recyclables.  So much for crinkles... maybe we'll have a paper toss with it on the next snow day?

Hansel & Gretel's Home (12/10)

What you need: piece of paper, pieces of assorted colors of construction paper cut into various small shapes (circles, diamonds, candycanes, squiggles, etc...), gingerbread boy cut-outs of paper, dish of glue, brush for glue

While working on their project, I told the story of Hansel & Gretel...from memory... I'm going to re-tell this version when the kids work on their next activity.

Holiday Handprints (12/09 & 12/10)

Rudolph- What you need: brown paint (or mix blue, red, and yellow and we did), red paint, paintbrush (lots of paper towels and wipes for quick clean-up), large piece of paper, very small piece of white and black paper for eyes, scissors

Wreath- What you need: green paint, red paint, paint brush, large piece of paper, scissors, glue, sheet of paper to put finished wreath on, wipes for clean-up

We're headed to Grandma's and needed to make holiday cards.  We painted and stamped Sydney's foot and hands to make Rudolph, gluing on paper eyes.  Kelsey worked on a hand print wreath with thumbprint holly berries.

Construction Cut-ups (12/07)

Kelsey took it upon herself to cut a shape out of a piece of contruction paper.  She then used the outlining piece of paper, cut it up into more bits, and glued it all together to create...she even wrote her name on it and let her sister hold it before taping it to "Our Fantastic Art Museum" kitchen wall:

Dazzling Doilies (12/09)

What you need: piece of paper, heart-shaped doilies, pieces of tissue paper, dish of glue, brush for glue

Foam Fantasy (12/07)

What you need: self-adhesive foam, scissors, piece of paper

The girls cut some foam scraps and I made some shapes, as well.  They peeled and stuck the shapes onto thick paper.  Sydney said hers was "dinosaur, roar."
